ASPAN Learn

Learn how to use your skills and experience as a CPAN or CAPA certified nurse to become an ABPANC Certification Coach. This session will teach volunteers interested in assisting CPAN^® and CAPA^® examination candidates, at the grassroots level, to prepare for the certification examination. Coaches speak passionately about the value of CPAN and CAPA certification and are willing to assist and encourage not-yet-certified colleagues in becoming certified.

1. Discuss an overview of the coach program.
2. Describe the roles and responsibilities of ABPANC coaches.
3. Discuss the resources that ABPANC offers to support coaches.

Are you interested in being a part of the CPAN/CAPA exam development process? Participate in this virtual introductory workshop, and learn the basics of how to write quality, reliable and valid exam questions as a CPAN/CAPA certified nurse. *

*Please note: You may not receive item writing training if you are planning to sit for the CPAN or CAPA exam within the next 12 months. In addition, if you are currently an ABPANC Certification Coach, or involved in teaching examination review courses, you may not participate due to a possible conflict of interest.

2. Describe the basic principles and components of item writing.
