The Department of Veterans Affairs is comprised of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA). VHA operates the nation’s largest integrated health care system, with more than 1,200 hospitals, clinics, community living centers, domiciliaries, readjustment counseling centers, and other facilities. VHA continues to be the benchmark of excellence and value in health care and benefits by providing exemplary services that are both patient-centered and evidence-based. VHA health care emphasizes prevention and wellness and contributes to the nation's well-being through education, research, and service in national emergencies. Our health care professionals work in collaborative teams to care for Veterans in an integrated environment that supports learning, discovery, and continuous improvement.
