This session explains the risks and benefits of various modes of anesthesia, such as sedation along a sedation continuum, general endotracheal anesthesia, and anesthetic agents, neuroaxial anesthesia, and regional anesthesia. Implications for the perianesthesia nurse in the provision of care are discussed with each anesthesia approach.
