602 - Still Not Safe: Medication Errors in the Perianesthesia Setting

This presentation details the medication process from patient history, prescribing, administration, monitoring and patient teaching. Using a case study approach, medication errors are reviewed through the lens of how the error occurred and how use of technology and redundancy in practice mitigate risk. The session concludes with a brief discussion on the aftermath of an error and the need to provide support to involved staff.
