#402 Minimally Invasive but Not Minimal Risk: Impact of Laparoscopic Surgery in Perianesthesia

Technological advances in surgical approaches have rapidly expanded to laparoscopic and robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery across many specialties. While minimally invasive, this surgical approach is not without risk to the patient. Complications may include postoperative pulmonary complications, perforation, vascular injury or conversion to an open surgical approach. This session describes laparoscopic surgery and explores potential postoperative complications with associated assessment and management strategies.
