205 - Perianesthesia Nursing Essentials for the Geriatric Patient: Preanesthesia through Postanesthesia Discharge

This lecture will present the preanesthesia evaluation of the geriatric patient for actual and potential anesthesia and surgical risk factors for the patient undergoing outpatient surgery. The pathophysiology of aging will be correlated with polypharmacy along with over-the-counter herbal medicine that influences the older adult’s preoperative preparation, but also the PACU Phases of care.
